General Guide Lines

Listen for a Clear Frequency before attempting a Connection to a remote station.

  1. Always announce your Call Sign before sending DTMF Commands to the System.
  2. Listen for at least 10 Seconds before transmitting after connecting to a remote station.
  3. Key your microphone 1 second before transmitting or sending DTMF codes.
  4. Leave 3 to 4 Seconds between all transmissions.
  5. Keep your transmissions short. Less than 2 minutes.
  6. Disconnect after your conversation has ended. No monitoring of remote connections.
  7. Echolink To connect  DTMF “B” plus the node number.
  8. To  disconnect DTMF “B#”.  Be sure the connected node is not transmitting. The DTMF letter B is used with all codes.
    1. Example.  To connect to node 270897  dialB270897. Do not release your microphone after the B. Do not hesitate while dialing. The system may think you have ended your number.
